I was born in the year of the British Steel, in some part of Midgard. I've begun playing with some computer or similar stuff quite early, before I even begun going to school, even if only sometimes. Some years later, in Anno Domini 1994, I fully realized my own legacy and I answered the call of Heavy Metal
I attended liceo Classico, italian humanistic high school, but now I'm studying Mathematics, and I still believe that both of them were right choices.
When it comes to Heavy Metal, some of my favourite bands include Virgin Steele, Manowar, DoomSword, Judas Priest, Omen, Manilla Road, Accept, Running Wild, Medieval Steel, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Saxon, Heavy Load, and the like. Usually I'd rather listen to their older albums than to the new ones. Somebody said that I'm a closed-minded conservative stereotypal DoomSword fan: I'm still not sure whether it was meant as a good or bad thing, I'm afraid I consider it to be the former. :)
On my computer I use
Slackware Linux, while my laptop
runs MacOS X and sooner or later I'll give a try to some *BSD.
On the Editor War I'm on the vi side, for a text editor should let you
edit text files, not give psichiatric assistance;
anyway I'm not a fanatic, as I use VIM with
syntax highlighting and I still press the arrow keys more than hjkl.
I've also tried ed (interactively) a couple of times, and I feel that
it isn't wholly evil, even if its main (and probably only) point
remain the usual ed is the standard editor
thing.
